When does the campaign run?
The campaign typically runs throughout the fall into January. Within this timeframe, individual state agencies and colleges/universities plan and run their own internal campaigns. Wrap and accounting then take place in January; in February, nonprofit distribution is set up; and, in March, reporting and first donations go to charities. Distributions run for 12 months. The 2020 campaign officially runs from October 1 to January 15.

How do I start?
2020 is a really challening year, for everyone and every institution. The CCC recommends five simple steps to start and run a successful campaign. Read more here. Then, use a planning worksheet to get started and map out your department's effort.

Who can I call for help if I have questions about our campaign?
CCC staff members are available to answer your questions, help you plan and troubleshoot, and provide support, materials and resources. Contact us at 720-420-3210 or info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org.

Can I get additional brochures and pledge forms?
Yes. The campaign resource guide and pledge form can be found online at www.coloradocombinedcampaign.org/campaign-resources. Also, you can request additional copies by contacting the CCC at info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org. Quantities are limited in 2020, as most department campaigns will be virtual and fewer hard-copy items will be produced.

Where can I find additional campaign resources?
Campaign resources (such as emails, graphics and planning materials) may be found online at www.coloradocombinedcampaign.org/campaign-resources. You may also contact the CCC at info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org for questions about resources.

Is there money for me to use to plan a campaign kickoff or other campaign activity?
Yes. The CCC has allocated “seed money” (a total of $1,000 in 2020) that departments can use to promote their campaigns and encourage participation. Lead Coordinators may apply for amounts of either $50 or $100, which will be given to them up front (as a Visa gift card) to spend on supplies and other items as they see fit. Click to access the online application form.

How do other agencies and colleges/universities typically use seed money?
Seed money can be used for anything that will help inspire employees to participate in the campaign, including:
-Purchasing incentive gifts that are given through weekly drawings to individuals who have donated.
-Utilizing the seed money itself as an incentive.

-Purchasing food or other items for campaign kickoffs or other events that may be planned.

Does the CCC provide incentive gifts?
Upon request, the CCC can provide to you a limited number of incentive gifts. These can include things like tote bags, travel mugs, pens, magnets, note pads and other swag. It is up to you to decide how to use these items. Often Lead Coordinators will use them for door prizes at events, add them to silent auctions or give them as a thank-you to employees who have donated or volunteered. Because so many department campaigns in 2020 are planned to be virtual, no new promotional items have been ordered and quantities are limited. Email us at info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org to find out more.

Other departments seem to have great giveaways such as gift cards. Where can I get these items?
Aside from the limited amount of items that you can receive directly from the CCC, Lead Coordinators can solicit popular businesses for donations. Tip: approach the stores or restaurants you already frequent for a donation. Approach businesses close to your workplaces that are popular with employees. A sample donation request letter may be found on the Lead Coordinator resources page on the CCC website. It’s important to note that you’re asking businesses for a donation to the CCC, not to Colorado state government.

What kickoff events and fundraisers have departments hosted to increase participation and pledges?
Most agencies and colleges/universities will host a nonprofit fair so that employees can learn about the different services being offered in the community. Many times these activities are paired with other events such as chili cook-offs, bake sales and silent auctions. In 2020, the CCC is hosting a series of virtual nonprofit fairs that any donor is welcome to click on and attend. Get more information and access details here.

How do I schedule a nonprofit fair or nonprofit speaker?
Participating nonprofit agencies are always excited to have the opportunity to connect with employee donors about their work and how much the contributions they receive through the CCC make a difference in their ability to help the community. To schedule a nonprofit speaker or to set up a nonprofit fair, please contact the CCC at info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org. In 2020, no in-person visits are anticipated. But we’re happy to help identify and secure speakers for virtual events.

Where can I find more information about the nonprofits participating in this year’s campaign?
A current listing of participating nonprofits can be found in our annual campaign resource guide, as well as on our website at www.coloradocombinedcampaign.org/participating-nonprofits. We also routinely highlight our nonprofit partners on the homepage of our website at www.coloradocombinedcampaign.org.

What do I do with paper pledge forms that have been completed and returned to my attention?
If an employee has opted to donate through payroll contribution, a copy of the paper pledge form must be turned in to both your payroll department and the CCC. If the employee has opted to donate with a credit/debit card, check, e-check or cash, the pledge form and the method of payment need only be submitted to the CCC. Paper pledge forms that don’t involve cash or check can be scanned and emailed to info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org. In the metro area, you can arrange for a pickup (we come to you) or delivery (you come to us) of pledge forms and funds by calling us at 720-420-3210 or emailing info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org. Outside of the metro area, feel free to ship items via a secure service like UPS or FedEx (see our street address below). Also, don’t forget to include a Pledge Processing Form with every “batch” of forms and funds.

In 2020, the CCC strongly recommends focusing on and encouraging as much as possible online donations through iPledge, our easy-to-use, safe and confidential giving platform.

What is the Pledge Processing Form?
This form serves as part of our system of checks and balances and ensures that the CCC attributes the pledges to the correct state agency, college or university. The Pledge Processing Form needs to be filled out and submitted with each batch of pledges you submit to the CCC. (Batches should also be separated by subdivision, for instance, Department of Revenue – Lottery Division, with the Pledge Processing Form filled out accordingly.) This handout explains more.

Can an employee make a pledge after the campaign has closed on January 15?
Employee donors interested in making a credit/debit card, check, or e-check donation can do so at any time throughout the year at www.ipledgeonline.org/_coloradocombinedcampaign. The ability to process pledges made through payroll contribution outside of the timeline of the campaign (so, from January 15 through the start of new campaign year) varies by institution and is at the institution’s discretion. But we can help! Please contact the CCC with questions about processing pledges that are made after the campaign closes at info@coloradocombinedcampaign.org.

If an employee is hired outside of the campaign season (February through August) can they still make a pledge or do they have to wait until the next campaign year?
